Going on a Winter Hiatus?

Four Tips to Prepare

Are you closing up shop for the holidays? If so, we’ve got you covered-we’ll make sure your technology is ready and waiting for you when you return, but we need your help. Here’s a quick to-do list to prepare for some down-time prior to the New Year.

  1. You can turn your heat down to conserve resources, but please don’t turn off your servers or workstations-just your displays. The SynchroNet team will still be pushing updates and security patches to your stations and servers as they are released from Microsoft and other vendors. This means your work stations will be ready, patched, and fully up to date when you are ready to return to work.
  2. Take a look at your own security: Are your doors and windows locked? Do you know who has a key to the office and who has access to your alarm system access code? Are all of your outdoor and perimeter lights operational?
  3. Notify your security system provider that your office will be closed for the holiday. Remember to tell them what date you’ll reopen and provide the names/IDs of the employees authorized to access your facility during the close period.
  4. Schedule regular site visits-every few days-where a trusted individual will walk through your office to make sure that everything is okay (this is especially important for your plumbing as the North Pole graciously shares its weather with us).
