Windows 10?

(Whatever happened to Windows 9?)

A few months ago, we mentioned that Windows 9 was coming and that we were looking out for it. So what happened to it? Well, it seems that Microsoft is trying to demonstrate that they are finally listening to users and incorporating user feedback. Rather than continue their incremental improvement (8 to 8.1 to 9), this release is supposed to be “the next big thing”, hence the jump to 10.

The preliminary word on the street is that Windows 10 will represent a major leap forward in providing a single operating system designed to support a wide variety of devices like smart phones, tablets, desktop and laptop, and even Xbox. It will be interesting to see if they can pull it off. By the way, tech analysts expect that Windows 10 will include a completely overhauled Internet Explorer, or perhaps introduce an entirely new browser product!

Whether or not Windows 10 will be better than 8.1 obviously remains to be seen… mostly because everyone defines “better” a little differently. The bottom line for you is that you don’t really need to think about Windows 10 unless you just want to do so. (We realize that the drama, pageantry and thrills associated with new operating system roll-outs can be hard to resist.) The SynchroNet Way includes a hardware and software upgrade plan specific to you that carefully considers your unique business needs, budget and current hardware configuration. So, let’s see what happens… and then wait for the feedback to start rolling in…
